The HPAT's structure
In 2016 the HPAT has 3 sections: Logical Reasoning & Problem Solving, Understanding People and Non-verbal reasoning
HPAT non-verbal reasoning
"Questions in this section may be of several kinds. All are based on patterns or sequences of shapes and are designed to assess your ability to reason in the abstract and solve problems in non-verbal contexts." The three kinds are: 'continue the series', 'complete the diagram' and 'fits the middle'
What University Courses require HPAT?
Together with your high school scores and interview performance HPA is required by University courses in Dublin, Cork and Galway:
- NUI Galway Bachelor of Medicine (MB) of Surgery (BCh) and of Obstetrics (BAO)
- Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland School of Medicine
- Trinity College Dublin Bachelor of Medicine
- University College Cork Medicine MB, BCh, BAO (Hons) - CK701
- University College Dublin Medicine MB, BCh, BAO (Hons) (NFQ Level 8)
